A reworking of Federico Fellini's "Juliet of the Spirits" (1965), with allusions to Lewis Carroll's book "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland," "Alice" is also another Woody Allen film on marital infidelity. As Fellini did with his wife in the former film, Allen casts his then-lover, Mia Farrow in the eponymous role.

Alice In Wonderland isn't exactly the most sane thing ever written, even in the context of children's stories. I have never read the books but I have been around seeing other versions (2010, being them more recent one I've seen) and I saw this film and I kind of liked it.

This is possibly the best-regarded of the myriad film versions of Lewis Carroll's "Alice In Wonderland", a relatively recent undertaking but a distinctly individualistic one by famed Czech animator/puppeteer Svankmajer (and which actually served as my introduction to his work). Knowing of its reputation, I had long desired to watch the film however, having done so, I can't help feeling slightly let down – not because it's not as good as I expected, or as weird as I had been led to believe but, rather, because of the liberties it takes with Carroll's original.

This show takes me back to my youth. I use to watch this show in the mornings after the Price is Right in syndication.

Why does anybody eat there? And why do they need 3 waitresses for such a small place with few customers?

In 1967, when 10 year old Mary refuses to go to school, she is arbitrary sent to a psychiatric hospital where mysticism is her only escape from the maltreatment... "Alice" is based on real events...

There are several creative elements of this re-interpretation that make this show well worth watching. Sadly, the titular character drags it down.

I'm rather surprised that this version of Alice isn't rated much much better, since in my humble opinion Alice TV mini-series are like the best thing. OK, I'll give you that special effects aren't top notch, and there are definitely things in the series which could have been better, but overall it's still one heck of an awesome and enjoyable series to watch, re-watch and then watch it again.

This version wasn't just scary it was beautiful and full of magic, this is by far the best alice in wonderland coming from someone who watched all. This is the alice in wonderland that should be the most famous.
