After doing what most people should of done and given it a chance to let the story and characters get moving, I have become more than pleasantly surprised by the amazing story, excitement and characters. I suggest ignoring the bulk of the other comments and try watching all the episodes over a couple of nights , or if your brave or bored then in on day.
Excellent effort. Could you do better in this budget?
Not the sort of thing I usually watch but I was lured by the attraction of North East scenery. I wasn't particularly enamoured by the first couple of episodes but it has improved and I have found myself looking forward to the light entertainment it provides on a Sunday evening.
I have tried and tried to watch and get into Beowulf, I stuck with Jekyll and Hyde and got into it, Beowulf is just missing that special something. I can't identify which particular age group they are aiming the series at.
Despite some fine acting it's abysmal. No effort has been made to put some intelligent screen writing and cgi' behind the concept.
I first turned Beowulf: Return to the Shieldlands on by mistake and quickly realized that this show could be an interesting watch. I have been pleasantly surprised and at times, I have only been mildly disappointed.
What an unbelievable(literally) load of absolute tosh..If there is anything of worth in it I have yet to find it..
If you liked "Merlin" this is the show for you. Equally balanced as a family show as compared to "Game of Thrones" it has its own totally different storyline.
Beowulf: Return to the Shieldlands is exactly what is was designed to be - a really entertaining, well made family action adventure. As many other reviewers have said this series has been unfairly compared with GOT but clearly it was never intended to sit within this bracket.
