The story goes as it follows: the earth is invaded by a strange alien nation and the few remaining people regroup to protect each other and to face the powerful aliens in order to make them leave. Nothing new or very original until now.
I'm coming to this having just finished with the last episode of "Falling Skies", which on the one hand means that I've been keen and dedicated enough to stick with 5 seasons but on the other hand denotes that I'm particularly under the impression of the last 10 episodes - all the more so as I've purchased seasons on DVD as they've come out, and hence with separations lasting months. It might be that someone watching everything back to back would get a slightly different impression, perhaps even with a certain sense of monotony or deja vu.
If you like post apocalyptic settings, want to follow a group of survivors and feel a connection with them as they progress through their ordeal, have a touch of sci-fi/horror and keep wondering what will happen next, dying to see the next episode... ...
I never caught this show when it originally aired. I started watching it recently and must say that the review from: whatutalkinaboot hit the first five episodes clearly over the head.
I loved Noah Wylie in ER... and I like "alien" shows...
I've just finished watching the series first season, and I must say it grew on me! Yes there are some 'soap' things you really could be without, but all in all it's solid and quite fun to watch.
Actually my summary says it all.Maybe I only think this is the worst show on TV because I wouldn't have come across it if it hadn't had SS's name all over it.
Having read so many "reviews" which consist of watching 1-5 episodes I would like to comment myself having watched the entire series. This is not one of the best sci-fi series i've ever watched.
This show is fantastic, its not all blood and guts and shooting aliens down, its so much more the story line is fantastic but not soppy! its so so good, i normally don't like programmes about zombies etc but this is great.
