Flo Fox is a NY-based photographer who at her prime was a leading figure in the underground arts scene. Legally blind due to MS and now suffering from cancer, she is no longer able to hold a camera but still has some vision.

The deal was Linda Lavin wanted the scene-stealing Polly Holliday off Alice, so Holliday got her own show. Unfortunately, it was short-lived.

Kiss my Grits! was Flo's line to Mel on the Alice show.

This was a pretty decent attempt to spin off one of the more popular sitcom characters in television history into her own show. This to me could be seen as almost a redneck hybrid of "The Mary Tyler Moore Show" and a show that came out a few years later, "Cheers".
