Reviews

The thing I enjoy, is the charming locale. it's pretty cold up there.

The characters are what drive this tv show to near perfection, they are all well cast and well acted. The main characters have great chemistry that makes the banter and humor feel effortless.

I am not going to give it a number yet after just one episode. What I will say, however, is someone must have had almost no money to hire actors.

Somehow they made it work. The so so acting, the cheesy humor, the awkward directing, the occasional unprofessional management of scenes, they conquered it all and made this show work well.

Canadian actor, Allan Hawco, is a likable PI in this series that ran for six years and can now be seen on Netflix. In partnership with his father, Jake (Hawco) and Malachy Doyle (Sean McGinley) investigate murder, robbery, and other crimes in picturesque St.

It's a great show to watch. It is not too serious, they didn't have to kill off characters to keep it interesting like some.

This was a very enjoyable show for the first several seasons. Around season 5 it became more like a bad Lifetime movie due to the rebellious teen (who just gets more irritating the longer she is around), and making Des an even more complete imbecile.

The only time I visited St Johns was in late December many years ago and found the town and people delightful. My recollection from almost 5o years was that many of the locals spoke with a heavy scotch/ Irish brogue which seems to be nearly completely gone in the series.
