While this time they do fight some super villain type characters(none I've ever heard of), there's still plenty of well meaning scientists/inventors and alien races thrown into the mix. The Wonder Twins are even worse than the original kids.
This series exceeded all expectations that it had, surpassed the first series of Super-Friends. Highly recommend.
My official first exposure to the SuperFriends was this series in 1977. I remember watching the ABC Previews the night before.
This show was far from perfect but it made significant improvements over the show that came before this one. One, they got rid of Marvin and Wendy (that's good), as well as Wonder Dog (not so good).
I had seen a couple of the 1973 Super Friends cartoons, but don't remember enough about them from that time. There was Superman, Batman and Robin, and the first time I had seen Wonder Woman and Aquaman.
When this version first premiered I was wondering how I was going to like it as opposed to the original show. Even though it wasn't much better, at least it was a slight improvement.
As a kid I used to watch this show every Saturday morning on ABC. This show featured Superman, Aquaman, Wonder Woman, Batman & Robin, and the Wonder Twins, Zan & Jayna, with their pet monkey Gleek.
