Born in Toronto, Anne Helm's entire Canadian "show biz" career consisted of playing "Alice in Wonderland" at camp and acting in a Christmas pantomime at Montreal's Her Majesty's Theatre. When she was 14, she and her mother relocated to New York, where Helm studied ballet and began modeling for 'John Robert Powers' . More recently billing herself as "Annie Helm", she is also a writer and illustrator of children's books.
Has two children: a son, Peter Sherlock (with writer John Sherlock ) and a daughter, Serena Viharo (with Robert Viharo ), who is also an actress and model.

At age 16 she was a showgirl at the famous Copacabana nightclub in New York City.
