She changed her birth surname from Caplan to Catz as there was already an actress with that name. She came up with the last name after seeing a doodle of a cat but ironically she is extremely allergic to cats.
Caroline Catz has played a Police Officer in 4 different TV series. In 1998-2000, she was WPC/SGT/DS Rosie Fox in "The Bill" . In 1999-2003, she was PC Cheryl Hutchins in "The Vice" for the entire 5 seasons. In 2004-2005, she was DI Kate Ashurst in "Murder in Suburbia" for the short series run of 2 seasons. In 2016, Caroline is playing DI Helen Morton in "DCI Banks" having joined the cast in 2012.
