Is a Christian Minister, licensed by St. Luke Baptist Church, New York, NY.

Was nominated for Broadways 1972 Tony Award as Best Actor for "Two Gentlemen of Verona."

Wrote the hit "Never Can Say Goodbye", recorded and made famous by The Jackson 5. Also recorded by Gloria Gaynor , and Isaac Hayes and more than 80 other artists.

Over the years, Dr. Davis has become a celebrated motivational speaker, having been the keynote speaker for such organizations as the S.C.L.C, the UNCF, the NAACP Freedom Fund of South Carolina, National Black Meeting Planners, 100 Black Men of America, the National Black Educators convention and more than 125 universities and schools. He is the recipient of more than 150 awards and citations for his service to such organizations as the UNCF, the NAACP Easter Seals and other national and local social or civic organizations.

Brother of Cedric Davis.

Lives with wife Monica in Lady Lake, Florida.

Wrote "Here Comes the Sunrise" for The Supremes , included in their 1971 album "Touch".
