Trivia

Has an identical twin sister, Andrea Hall , who has played her "evil" twin, Samantha Evans, on "Days of Our Lives" .

Has two sons: David Atticus Sohmer (born August, 23, 1992) and Tully Chapin Sohmer (born January 19, 1995). The surrogate mother is Robin B.

Attended and graduated from Lake Worth Community High School , and studied psychology before sidetracking into acting.

Many insiders thought she had her best year ever on "Days of Our Lives" in 2004 and was considered a lock-up for a Daytime Emmy Award nomination. To the surprise of everyone, she was not nominated in what many are calling the biggest oversight by the Emmy Awards in many years.

Best known by the public for her role as Dr. Marlena Evans on "Days of Our Lives" .

Her acting mentor was the late Frances Reid.

Deidre and her identical twin, Andrea Hall , are actually "mirror twins". Only by looking at them, face-on, can you see that their hair parts naturally on opposite sides. They can see this by looking in a mirror, then the parts match.

Attended the private memorial for actress Frances Reid , after her passing in 2010.

Received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame at 6201 Hollywood Boulevard in Hollywood, California on May 19, 2016.

Ex-stepmother of Ilisa Sohmer.

Even though, she became famous for starring in the soap opera "Days of our Lives", she actually started in another daytime serial "The Young and the Restless". In fact, she was in the very first episode that premiered on March 26, 1973. In 2013, "Entertainment Weekly" magazine looked back at the 40 year old episode and wrote of Hall: "Some actors in the premiere episode (which was only a half hour) may not be recognizable to todays younger Y&R fans, but youd have to live in a hovel with no access to soap opera rags to NOT recognize the gal at episodes end who continues to reign as a daytime diva.".

Quotes

[In 1999, recalling her role in "The Young and the Restless" that she, first played in 1973] I played Nurse Barbara. Ha Nurse Barbara! And,Barbara was the girlfriend of the lead character who had a child with, him, and the child died, and he left town. That was the beginning of,the show, and I was his backstory. I was on the show off-and-on for, three years, more off than on. .
