Jaclyn Smith was born Jaclyn Ellen Smith on October 26, 1945 in Houston, Texas. She graduated from high school and originally aspired to be a famous ballerina. In 1973, she landed a job as a Breck shampoo model. In 1976, she was offered a chance to star in a new pilot for a planned television series, entitled _"Charlie's Angels" . She married him in 1997 and they both created a skincare line.

Her favorite memory of "Charlies Angels" was when she and her costars Farrah Fawcett and Kate Jackson appeared on cover of "Time" magazine on November 22, 1976. She and Farrah had considered it a prestigious honor when "Time" magazine asked, but Kate balked at it, since the producers wanted them to give up their lunch hour to do it. She had frequently stopped the producers from overworking them and saw this as one more way for them to encroach on their personal time. She locked herself in her trailer with Farrah and Jaclyn and told the producers that the door was stuck and wont open. The three friends had their lunch together for 45 minutes, when the producers struggled to open the door and begged them to pose for "Time" magazine, which they did in the last 15 minutes of their lunch hour. She is the only member of "Charlies Angels" who has appeared on the cover of "Time" magazine twice, since she did a solo "Time" cover while she was pregnant with her son for the February 22, 1982 issue.
