Biography

Lou Mulford is an actress, writer born in North Carolina and raised in Virginia graduating from Virginia Wesleyan College as an Art/Education major. She spent all her spare time in the theatre dept. performing in numerous productions, notably as Rosalind in "As You Like It", and Fleur Stein in "And Miss Reardon Drinks a Little". Lou was cast in The Lost Colony" and moved to LA soon after at the bequest of choreographer/director Joe Layton. Lou has worked in the industry professionally for over 30 years in commercials, film, TV, and the stage. She took a film and television hiatus to raise her daughters from 1987 to 2007. Some of her roles include History of the World Part I, Voyagers, ER, NBC's hit game show Sale of the Century as an actress, model and co-host in the 80's, Mad Men as Betty Draper's mother, Leverage, Cougar Town, and NCIS. Her most well know commercial was the 2012 Verizon Mother's day ad as the crying mother with daughter. Lou wrote, produced and starred in her comedic short film "Invasion of the Money $natcher$" that will air on ShortsTV beginning in August 2014. Lou lives in LA with her husband and two loony rescue mutts.

Lou worked with thousands of young teens across the east coast and mid west as an instructor, and head instructor with the National Cheerleaders Association during her college years in the summers.

Lou took an over 18 year hiatus from film and TV to raise her two lovely daughters.

Lou is an animal lover and supports causes for the Orcas, and dog rescue among others.

Lou was head of the drama ministry at her church in Pacific Palisades, CA for ten years teaching, writing, directing, and producing. Lou was one of the 10 founding members of The Actors Co-op in Hollywood.

Lous mother, Marty Terry, is a working actress in Norfolk Virginia, and her father was a newspaper journalist, and editor in both North Carolina and Virginia.

Lou is related to Clarence Mulford who wrote the Hopalong Cassidy series.
