He was offered Paul Eddington s part on "The Good Life" , but passed because of a dates clash. He later found out from Richard Briers that he would have been able to do both jobs.
He published his autobiography, "Ask Me if Im Happy. An Actors Life", in April 2010.
Friends with actors Bryan Pringle and James Villiers for many years.
His TV debut in 1958 was memorable for him in an unexpected and gruesome way - during the live transmission of the play ("Underground"), one of the other actors, Gareth Jones, died suddenly whilst off-camera.
