Biography

Steven Schub was born in Brooklyn, New York, but was raised primarily in Berkeley and Piedmont, California. At age 16, he attended the American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco, studying under 'Annette Bening' , The Ayn Rand Institute's 2003 USC Philosophy Conference, and, most recently, the 2005 Vans Warped Tour. "The Fenwicks" are now widely-considered to be one of the progenitors and instigators of "3rd Wave Ska". Steven Schub is a Lifetime Member of the Actors Studio.

Actor Philip Seymour Hoffman sings on a rare version of Schubs band The Fenwicks song "Can You Tell Me".

Director Bennett Miller ( Capote ) was the first manager of Schubs ska band "The Fenwicks", and directed The Fenwicks first music video for their song "Another Deadly Mother". The video is featured prominently in the critically acclaimed Sony Pictures Classics film Caught directed by Robert M. Young and starring Edward James Olmos , Maria Conchita Alonso and Steven Schub.

College roommate at NYUs Tisch School of the Arts with actor Philip Seymour Hoffman. Hoffman, Schub and director Bennett Miller formed a notoriously short-lived and volatile theater company at NYU- The Bullstoi Ensemble.

Once worked as a Substitute Teacher in Los Angeles Countys Central Juvenile Hall.

Annette Bening was Schubs first acting teacher at the American Conservatory Theater and actress Teri Hatcher was a fellow classmate.
